At DOT Canada, we want our customers to be confident in their purchases. This Returns & Exchanges Policy outlines the conditions under which products may be returned, exchanged, credited, or repaired. This policy applies primarily to business, reseller, and installer customers.
Please review the guidelines carefully before initiating a return.
1. Return Eligibility
Products may be eligible for return under the following conditions:
- Items must be returned within 30 days of delivery.
- Returns requested after 30 days will not be accepted unless expressly approved by your sales representative.
- Products must be unused, unopened, and in original condition.
- Original packaging, accessories, manuals, and documentation must be included.
- A valid proof of purchase (order confirmation or receipt) is required.
2. Non-Returnable Items
The following items are not eligible for return or exchange:
- Clearance products and final sale items
- Special-order products, unless permitted by the manufacturer
- Items subject to manufacturer restocking fees or non-returnable terms
- Installed, used, or altered items (including cable spools, tools, or electronics showing wear)
- Software licenses, digital downloads, and subscription-based products
- Consumables such as batteries or similar items
Special-order returns are not available online. Please contact your sales representative to confirm vendor authorization and eligibility.
3. How to Initiate a Return
We offer two methods for returning eligible products:
3.1 In-Store Returns
You may return eligible items in person by visiting a DOT Canada location with proof of purchase.
3.2 Return by Shipping
To return items by mail:
- Contact our support team to request a Return Authorization (RA) number.
- Repackage the item securely in its original packaging.
- Ship the item to the return address provided with your RA number.
Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to a defective product or an error on our part.
4. Types of Returns
When initiating a return, you will be asked to specify the return type:
4.1 Credit – New
Unopened and unused products returned in original packaging may be eligible for account credit.
4.2 Credit – Defective
Products found to be defective upon arrival may be returned for credit, subject to manufacturer approval.
4.3 Exchange – Defective
Defective items may be exchanged for a replacement of the same product at no additional charge, subject to availability and vendor policy.
4.4 Repair
Items returned for repair will be processed in accordance with the manufacturer’s warranty and service policies. Handling or diagnostic fees may apply.
5. Refunds & Credits
- Refunds or credits are issued only after returned items are received and inspected.
- Approved refunds will be processed to the original method of payment within 5–10 business days.
- Shipping and handling charges are non-refundable, except in cases of defective products or shipping errors by DOT Canada.
If a manufacturer determines that a returned product is not defective, not new, or has been damaged due to misuse, improper installation, or abuse, the customer will be responsible for all related costs, including repair, replacement, and shipping.
6. Damaged or Defective Products
If your order arrives damaged or defective, you must notify DOT Canada within 7 days of delivery.
- Products deemed defective out of the box may be exchanged or returned for credit at no charge, subject to manufacturer approval.
- DOT Canada reserves the right to follow manufacturer inspection and authorization procedures before issuing replacements or credits.
7. Policy Limitations
DOT Canada reserves the right to refuse returns that do not comply with this policy. This policy does not affect your statutory rights under applicable Ontario or Canadian law.
